Casino New Brunswick and online play

Casino New Brunswick runs no online casino, and the province names ALC.ca its only legal online gambling platform. This page sets out those rules, the break tools on ALC.ca and how this guide is paid.

One legal platform

ALC.ca, in New Brunswick's view, is the province's sole legal and regulated platform for online gambling. It is operated by Atlantic Lottery, which belongs to the four Atlantic provinces. Its offerings are Digital Instants, iBingo and iCasino. Players must be 19 or older, matching the provincial age for casino play.

No licensing scheme exists in New Brunswick for private online operators, so they have no path to a provincial licence. Atlantic Lottery's stance is that other online gambling sites may not legally operate or advertise in Atlantic Canada, and that any overseas licence such a site claims makes no difference.

Pauses, long breaks and limits

ALC.ca lets a player pause play for anything from 1 to 90 days. A longer break runs 6, 12, 24 or 36 months. Once set, a long break cannot be undone, either by the player or by Atlantic Lottery. Three limits sit alongside the breaks: one on deposits each week, and two each day, on time spent and on money wagered.

For the casino floor, Voluntary Self-Exclusion is a separate program, and enrolment goes through the Responsible Gaming Information Centre at 506-861-4699.

How this guide is paid

Paid links in this guide show up only on the home page, each one marked Ad. There are three of them: a menu button, a block below the first screen and one close to the end. Each leads to a single private online casino partner that pays the guide. That partner goes unnamed and may change, and the guide does not stand behind it. This page has no paid links of any kind.

Legally speaking, ALC.ca is named by the province as New Brunswick's sole legal and regulated platform for online gambling.

Questions from the lobby

Is there a Casino New Brunswick website for playing online?

No, the casino has no site of its own. Its pages sit on greatcanadian.com, under destinations/newbrunswick/moncton, in English and French. They describe the venue and do not offer play.

How old must a player be to use ALC.ca?

New Brunswick sets 19 as the age for Atlantic Lottery products. Casino play in the province starts at the same age.

Once a long break on ALC.ca is set, can it end sooner?

No, a long break of 6, 12, 24 or 36 months cannot be undone by the player or by Atlantic Lottery. A pause of 1 to 90 days is the shorter option.
